L.A. Bikers Auction Raises $15K

The Toyz for Kids auction raised over $15,00 Over $15,000 in Atmore on Thursday.

This is an annual event which uses all the money gathered at the auction to buy toys for children of the community who can’t afford them. LA Bikers club members are going to give out the toys to the children in December to make sure each child from the community has a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

You could see handcrafted furniture at the auction, created by Pee Wee Powel. Wooden chairs, rocking chairs, and gazebos are just some of the items sold at the auction. Around 70 items were auctioned and bought that day.

Bikers Team Up To Help Local Children In Oklahoma

Skiatook, Saturday, Oct. 24 – More than 75 motorcycles rumbled away from and back to Skiatook Christian Church. The drivers came together to make Christmas more special for local children in need.

There were a few multi-wheeled vehicles present as well, and they, along with the bikers, all brought toys which are going to be distributed at Christmas as part of the inaugural Christmas in October Toy Run, sponsored by the Kings & Queens Riding Club and the church, located at 1102 W. Oak St.

Riders enjoyed a scenic ride through the Skiatook and Sperry areas – with Skiatook Police Department escorts in and out of town to ensure safety – before returning to the church for a chili dinner.

“I belong to Kings & Queens and I started attending church here,” said toy drive organizer M.D. Collins. “My pastor (Trey Harper) has done a lot for this community, so I asked him, could we do it?”

He wasn’t sure if the church would support a motorcycle club-organized toy run, but Harper said it was never an issue.

“Everyone was all for it,” Harper said. “They wanted to do whatever they could to help the community and bring unity between people. Any way we can share Jesus with people, we want to do that.”

Thunder Beach: Bikers Return For Autumn Rally

PANAMA CITY BEACH — After a kick-start on Wednesday, the Thunder Beach Autumn Rally is up to full speed this weekend with concerts, vendor villages, poker runs and parades — and loads of parties.

The organizers of this event promise there will be something for everyone at this event.

Official venues and vendor villages are at Boardwalk Beach Resort and Conference Center, 9450 S. Thomas Drive; Club La Vela, 8813 Thomas Drive; Frank Brown Park, 16200 Panama City Beach Parkway (where the Thunder Beach Saloon will be set up); Hammerhead Fred’s, 8752 Thomas Drive; Harley Davidson of Panama City Beach, 14700 Panama City Beach Parkway; Sharky’s Beach Club, 15201 Front Beach Road; the Shoppes at Edgewater, 513 Richard Jackson Blvd.; Pier Park North, 600 Pier Park Drive; and The Wicked Wheel, 10025 Hutchison Blvd.

The public can register to win a new Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide motorcycle to be given away Saturday at the Thunder Beach Saloon. Registration is at Club La Vela 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; The Shoppes at Edgewater 5-9 p.m. Friday; and Frank Brown Park 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Among the items available in the villages, you will find everything from homemade ice cream to derringers, pin striping, grips and braids, sunglasses, chaps and bags, patches, clothing, photographers and much more.

Information booths at Frank Brown Park will be staffed by Bay County Trauma Center, Christian Motorcycle Association, PCB Cops and Kids, and many others.

POKER RUNS & PARADES

The Friday poker run is noon to 5 p.m., sponsored by The Defenders LEMC, and starts with registration at Sharky’s Beach Club. First bike out is 12:30 p.m., and last bike out is 1 p.m. Stops include Sugar Sands, Barefoot Hideaway Grill, Tidewater Resort, and Coyote Ugly, which is hosting a free bikini bike wash. Prizes will be awarded at 5 p.m.

The Sgt. Kevin Kight Memorial Bike Parade will be Saturday, sponsored by the Panama City Beach Police and White Sands Riders. Bikers will gather at 10 a.m. at the southwest corner of R. Jackson Boulevard and Middle Beach Road, with kickstands up at 11 a.m. sharp. Participants and onlookers are urged to make cash donations as well as canned goods and nonperishables that are given to local food banks.

“One of the most inspirational events of every Thunder Beach rally is the gathering of hundreds of riders — as well as thousands of onlookers — for the Sgt. Kevin Kight Memorial Bike Parade,” rally organizers said in promotional materials. “This event has special significance to the Panama City Beach community, as it serves to memorialize a fallen local hero and provides assistance to children and families in need.”

Thousands Of bikers Hit Daytona Beach For 23rd Annual Biketoberfest

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The 23rd annual Biketoberfest that starts Thursday has made thousands of bikers pack up and hit Daytona Beach.

City officials have discussed the three day event with the law enforcement. The final preparations have been made on Wednesday on Main Street.

Sheriff Ben Johnson said law enforcement wants everyone to have fun, but be careful about drinking and riding.

“If they’re going to consume alcohol, get a taxi cab. We don’t want them leaving here in a body bag. We don’t want something happening to them. We don’t want them visiting our hospitals,” said Johnson.

Officials have said the financial boost from this event will be felt all over central Florida. Last year, $15 million was pumped into the local economy, thanks to this event.

2 Bikers Go Cross Country on Route 66 And Document The Whole Thing

Chris Force and Laura Heidenreich have recently rounded up their friends on a cross-country motorcycle ride to Vietnam. Once they returned, they thought they should do the same in their own country, and decided to take a trip from Chicago to California via Route 66.

“After having experienced such an eye-opening and thrilling experience riding across another country, I really wanted to ride across my own,” Force told Tech Insider. “There was still so much that I hadn’t seen in the United States, and what better way to do it than on a Harley-Davidson?”

Force is a great photographer and he documented the whole trip – which was Heidenreich’s first cross-country bike ride. She rode a shiny new model of Harley Davidson called the Iron 883.

With A Roar Like Thunder, Bikers Converge On Colonial Beach For 2015

For four days the Town of Colonial Beach was heaven on earth for bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts.

Starting October 8 and all through Oct. 11th over 30,000 people cruised all over town enjoying good music, food, drinks, and catching up with lots of old friends and new fellow bikers.

Many returning visitors from last year’s festival showed up and although it rained on Saturday, everyone had a blast.

The best thing about this year’s event was the completely free music. A variety of bands performed. Beer distributors sponsored the amazing lineup so the main theme among the performers was – Buy beer!

According to colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce President Carrey Geddes, the event was a huge success and 90% of visitors are signing up for next year for sure.
