Saturday afternoon, Daytona Beach Bar hosted the second annual “Battle of the Babes”, a biker event with one goal in mind: to raise breast cancer awareness by showcasing the best female-fronted rocking bands from the region.
The party was, in fact, an opening for Biketoberfest which begins on Thursday. Biketoberfest is most likely going to attract more than 100,000 people to the area. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the organizers decided to host the event right before Biketoberfest because they thought the whole atmosphere is already buzzing and there’s a lot of biker magic in the air, while waiting for Thursday.
This was the first time Battle of the Babes happened in Daytona Beach. The daylong event presented six bands with female frontman (or frontwomen, if you please). All the money that was raised is going to be donated to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation.
