Biker Gang Shootout Is Sad Day For Bikers

bikergangfeature

Being a biker comes with a particular prestige, an ironclad commitment to being free and being upstanding. The bikers that we know help and promote philanthropy, serve as models of the American dream for freedom and live high in the palms of the world’s abandonment.

However, this weekend in Waco, our biker nation was served a wound and we are still trying to stop the bleeding.

All local law enforcement remains on high alert. And on edge. The good news is that local stores began opening back up as of this morning. The concern, of course, is retaliation by biker gangs. Right now it is believed that at least 5 biker gangs are involved.

This is certainly a black eye for bikers everywhere and our hopes and prayers go out to everyone involved on behalf of Biker Planet.

7 Reasons You Love Being A Biker (Number 5 is the Best!)

As if we all didn’t already know why we love being bikers – it’s hands down the best life possible – we thought pointing out several of the most remarkable reasons would be cool.

Check them out and tell us if your favorites are mentioned, and it not – let u know what they are!

  1. Saving gas

Many people think of fuel costs when you ask them about motorcycling. Although there’s so much more to riding than just saving gas, it still is true that riding a bike costs a lot less gas than riding a car.

  1. Insurance is cheap and that’s awesome

The lightweight of your motorcycle (compared to the weight of a car) will cause less risk to others, thus insurance is cheaper than car insurance. The truth is insurance companies are focused on the damage you could do to another vehicle, so ensuring a bike is a lot cheaper than insuring a car.

  1. FREEDOM!

Here comes the REAL reason for loving the biker life. Riding a motorcycle makes you feel free like nothing else does. You feel completely unchained to the ordinary world and it’s as close to a flying feeling as a land vehicle could possibly give you.

  1. Full Exposure

You are completely exposed to the world around you, and you feel the world is exposed to you too. No cage, no steel, stiff frame between you and Mother Nature. You get involved actively in all its beauties and you become one with everything that surrounds you.

  1. Being Bold and Sexy is Also Good

It’s common knowledge that bikers are considered bolder and sexier than ordinary people. Long gone are the days when bikers were considered outlaws. Society has embraced the free spirit of the biker life, and many non-riders cherish it as something wild and free.

  1. You develop mentally

Riding makes your mind think faster, do more, and you start being more involved in living life in general. Partly it’s because, for safety reasons, you simply need to be extremely attentive while riding. All of our senses enhance while we ride.

  1. The FUN!

Riding a motorcycle is one of the most exciting and exhilarating experiences. All of the sensations and sounds, the feeling of being connected to your surroundings, the thrill, the sense of freedom, it all comes down to one thing: riding is fun as hell!

Friends Ask Her Why She Loves Biker Guys, She Gives These 4 Reasons Every Time. (hint: you may need a cold shower after)

girlfeature

Yesterday I received this letter from one of our Biker Planet members and I just had to show it to you!

To Whom It May Concern,

I love my friends. My friends aren’t biker girls per se, instead they represent a varied swath of life, each having differing and unique occupations. We all respect one another, but we are girls and dishing out advice comes with the territory. When we talk about dating, I am always the oddest one out because my dating life now strictly revolves around biker guys. My friend Sarah has recently been dating an attorney and my friend Jill has been dating a personal fitness coach. Their weekend getaways usually consist of one of Scottsdale’s trendiest dinner affairs, some wine and then well, yes ladies, maybe his or her place for the “after.” You can imagine how my contribution of “did a day trip to Sturgis, I had my arms wrapped around his waist for hours, a wind blown body with a protector hovering the wheel into and away from the chaos of the world with a desert unfolding all around us,” goes over.

If you date biker guys, then I bet you get what I just said. So I decided to write 4 reasons to give as to why you love dating biker guys. After your friends hear these, don’t be surprised if they start wanting to get hooked up also : )

I need to feel my inner wild child.

I’ve always had a bit of a, let’s just say, heightened spirit. I love being a girly girl, but don’t always love every detail of what that entails. Sure, a guy opening a door for me is something which I cherish, but I also need a man that can let his goatee grow out and jump on a bike with me on the back at a moment’s notice and head to….I don’t know…maybe Utah? or maybe a place called “we’ll see where we land when the sun sets.”

That’s the tune I’ve been singing my whole life: cake and eat it too, then some more cake for eating. Biker guys make me feel free spirited and alive, rather than drab and socially contained for the sake of acceptance.

I don’t want my guy to be predictable.

I’ve dated plenty of non-biker guys and I always felt I was getting the same packaged doll, each and every time. Please don’t take this wrong, I am sure it was just the guys I was meeting, however that’s the relevant part of why I started dating biker guys in the first place. Before the Internet and places such as Biker Planet, meeting biker guys wasn’t the easiest so of course I tended to date a greater variety of “types,” but I always found the greatest connections with guys who rode. And the one thing I could always figure out in the equation was that the constant variable was that the biker guy always seemed less predictable. Maybe it’s the biker life that sometimes can feel a little bohemian, maybe it’s other less obvious reasons, but that’s how it always felt.

I like to ride. So it only makes sense.

I’ve been into motorcycles for over 15 years. I got my first tasted when I was 16 and my dad let me take a spin in his old Kawasaki Sportbike. That feeling of finally being so exposed to the elements while the wind whisked across my face was something I could never let go of. And so I didn’t. And while my bike selections have evolved since that hot August day with my dad, one thing that hasn’t changed is my undying love for motorcycles and the motorcycle culture.

When you are looking for the perfect companion, wouldn’t you want that guy to be someone who shares the same sentiment for the thing you love most? I can see an argument both ways, but for me it is something I need and yearn for. So I love dating biker guys and meeting biker friends because well, I’m a biker. And while I’m a biker, I’m still a girl, ya’ know!

When I see a man on a bike, something changes in me.

That’s an odd thing to say, right? So non-descript and so vague. But really, isn’t that the “it” factor we all want in our dating lives? When a man steps off that powerful beast of a machine, removes his helmet and his hair blows in the wind and he puts that helmet against his hip, something…something I can’t define…something that makes my stomach flutter…something that makes my face feel warm….my world feel right…..happens.

And that’s the 4 things I tell all my friends when they ask, “why are you so into biker guys?”

Sincerely,

Anna Anon
